No seeded players reached the final in the boys’ under 15 grade at the New Zealand squash age group championships in Napier.

Top seed Dean Rae (Hastings) was beaten in the semi-finals by Paul Viggers (Napier). The final today is between Viggers and Robin Clements (Christchurch) who beat Glen McDonald (Rotorua) in the other semi-final.

In the girls’ under 15 top seed Karen Lever (Tauranga) is unbeaten and meets Madeline Chrystall (Auckland) in the semi-finals. The other match to decide the finalists is between Cheryl Clark (Palmerston North) and Nicola Powell (New Plymouth).

There was an upset in the boys’ under 19 when unseeded Paul McFadzien (Christchurch) beat the number 2 seed Robert Lust (Wellington).

Top seed Brian Barnett (Tauranga) beat Robin Espie (Wellington).

In the girls’ under 19 top seed Annette Owen (Auckland) and Robyn Blackwood (Auckland)’ the second seed, will meet in the final.
