Rod Hayes, one of New Zealand’s most promising juniors has been included in the Canterbury squash rackets team at meet Australia on May 29. He will play at No.3.The Canterbury selector (Mr L>G>Milne) said yesterday that the national colts reserve Lawerence Skurr will play in the fourth position, while the experienced HighSchool Old Boys players Viv Hargreaves and Barry McNeil, will fill the top places. The province recently lost two of it’s leasing players, Don Preston and Morris Billington, and will not be as strong as in the past.The Australian team of Ray Lewis (Victoria), Kevin Shawcross (New South Wales), John Manning (South Australis), and Terry Cheetham (Queensland) – all ranked among the top eight in their country – opens it’s New Zealand tour, which includes three tests, against Southern Districts at Oamaru on May 28.
