Hunt top seed for squash

The British open squash championships start in London tomorrow, with many of the seeded players facing touch first-round opposition. 
Although the leading Pakistanis will be absent, Sajaad Munneer has the chance to keep his country in the limelight when he takes on Cam Nancarrow, of Australis, the third seed.
Ahmed Safwat, seeded second, also comes up against a tricky opponent in his compatriot, Gamal Awad, Egypt’s leading amateur.
The world champion, Geoff Hunt, of Australia the defending champion and four times open winner is top seed but one man particularly eager to deny him a second successive victory will be Britain’s Jonah Barrington.
Barrington, seeded fourth, is chasing his seventh open title to equal the record held by Hashim Khan.
The seeds are – 1, Geoff Hunt (Australis; 2 Ahmed Safwat, (Egypt); 3, Cam Nancarrow (Australia); 4, Jonah Barrington (Britain); 5, Roland Watson (South Africa); 6, Ken Hiscoe (Australia); 7, Aly Aziz (Egypt); 8, Kevin Shawcross (Australia); 9, Bruce Brownlee (New Zealand); 10, Mohammad Asran (Egypt), Murray Lilley (New Zealand) is seeded fifteenth.
